Hera,”Great Lady” is the wife of Zeus, and Goddess of Marriage and the Queen of all Gods and Goddesses on Mt Olympus. It’s said that she was born on the island of Samos or Argos. Her parents are Rhea and Kronos and her siblings are Zeus, Hestia, Demeter, Hades,
and Poseidon. Hera is the mother of Ares, Eris, Goddess of Discord, Hebe, Goddess of Health, and Eileithyia, Goddess of Childbirth.

Hera was seduced by Zeus, according to one legend, in the region of the Hesperides. It seems she wasn’t responding to Zeus’ attempts so he came up with a plan to trick her. Zeus turned himself into a cuckoo bird that was frozen from the snow. Hera felt sorry for the bird so she held the bird close to her so she could warm it. Zeus then turned himself back to his human self and took advantage of Hera while she was in shock. Eventually, Hera fell in love with Zeus and their honeymoon lasted 300 years.

Hera as the Goddess of Marriage can be a help in every part of a woman’s life including love and financial independence. While not known as a great mother, she is nevertheless an excellent source of inspiration for being a great wife and lover. Everyone thought Hera as jealous, spiteful, and full of rage and vengeance toward Zeus’ many paramours, which are lovers. But this was rightful. Call upon Hera to help you with you with difficulties in your marriage and for the strength to stand up for what is rightfully yours in life.

Hera is often depicted with peacocks, cuckoo birds, and pomegranates as symbols. Her gem is the Lapis Lazuli. This beautiful blue stone, often containing crystals of golden pyrite has long been prized by many cultures. It helps promote honesty and open communications, key elements of any marriage.
