With the knowledge of the energy of the crystal colors from Lesson 4 and the understanding of the components of grids from earlier parts of this lesson, we are now ready to design and assemble grids.

So, let’s get started. To begin, here is Brittani describing a grid for Peace of Mind.

 

STEP 1

DETERMINE THE INTENT

A crystal grid is always built to accomplish a specific intention. If the intention is not absolutely clear, then the grid will not be effective. The more specific the intention, the more likely the grid can be effectively built and used.

Good intentions for using a crystal grid are specific and allow you to know when you have achieved your purpose and can retire your grid. Here are a few examples:

I would like to get an A on my Algebra Final.

I would like my mother to have a great birthday party.

I want to have enough money to put a down payment on a new car in June.

I want to get along better with my mother in the next few months.

 

STEP 2

SELECT THE GRID DESIGN

The second step is to match the intention and objective of the need to the various designs of grids. Each design provides specific energy paths from the Patterns of Life. There are many options for a grid design. Review each of the ones presented in the previous parts of this lesson, or ask in the Crystal Inner Circle's Crystal Grids Community Forum for advice and guidance.

However, this is your grid, and the pattern has to be conducive to the energy flow you need, and also "fit" you and your needs. Start with our guidance, and choose based on your feelings. The grid design you choose:  circle, square, seed of life, pentagon, or other, needs to be a personal choice.

 

STEP 3

SELECT THE VISUAL

Sometimes the visual for your grid will be easy. If you are seeking something tangible, like a new car, a picture of the car is a logical choice. If you are seeking to improve a portion of your life, perhaps to be a kinder person, then an affirmation will work well.

Sometimes, though, this is difficult and takes some thought. When you are unhappy, it is hard to visualize what happiness might mean to you. This is where you will need to focus.

The grid visual helps you connect to the energy of the grid. It helps align you and your needs to the grid energy. It is important that the grid's appearance is consistent with the purpose of the grid. There are no right or wrong grid visuals, and you need not keep the same visual in your grid.

We suggest you begin with a simple design, or perhaps a mandala if you are stuck. Your objective is to make the objective of your grid something you can relate to visually.

The grid design can then be printed or drawn over it or printed on a clear overlay. Or you can just draw or print the design right on the visual.

 

STEP 4

SELECT THE DESIRE STONE

It might seem backward, but you design the crystal grid from the outside to the innermost crystal. The effect of the grid is felt at the outer edges, where the energy is dispersed into the area in which the grid is made.

The Desire Stones are the stones that are most attuned to the goal or purpose of the grid. They are selected by crystal energy and by color, but for our basic grids, we choose them by their color energy, which we covered in Lesson 4.

Use the Color Wheel and determine the color of the crystal that matches the desire you seek.  Then find crystals or stones of that color in the amount needed for your grid. Small tumbled stones work for most grids.

 

STEP 5

SELECT SPIRIT STONE

If you elect to include Spirit Stones, do that now. Determine which angel or goddess you want to help you. Do your research to determine which stones are attractive to that spirit.

If you cannot find that information, ask for help in the Crystal Inner Circle's Angel Crystals Community Forum or the Goddess Crystals Community Forum.

Collect the crystals or stones of the needed color in the amount your design needs.

 

STEP 6

SELECT THE WAY STONES

Way stone selection is much more art than science in a grid design. Way stones are the amplifiers - obstacle removers, and the interim points for the energy flow from the Focus stones to the Desire Stones. As there are many paths to success or health, or wealth, so are there many Way Stones that will work on any particular grid.

Here are some general selection guidelines. Once you have a clear idea of what you desire and what the grid is to help you accomplish, ask yourself, "How can I get there?"  Or "what do I need to do first?" or consider "what obstacle is the biggest I have to overcome?"

The answers to these questions will guide your selection of a Way Stone. If, for example, you wanted to do well on an exam, the way to do that would be by studying effectively. Olive colored stones are the Student’s stone with the energy you could use on the way to success on the exam. A set of tumbled peridots (an olive colored stone) would be good Way Stones for this purpose.

 

STEP 7

SELECT THE FOCUS STONE

We now turn to the center of the grid. We have our objective. We have selected the design, the Visual, the Desire Stones, any Spirit Stones, and the Way Stones. We now need our Focus Stone.

The purpose of the Focus Stone is very specific. The focus stone or crystal is used to collect, align, and focus the Universal Life Force, bringing its healing, life-giving properties to our grid. As we learned earlier, the Focus Stone is the part of our crystal grid that gathers in that Force, drawing it down and inward, creating essentially a downward-flowing wave of coherent energy that is then coalesced and amplified through the grid.

The energy that flows out from the Focus Stone is modified and shaped by the color energy of the Way Stones, the Desire Stones, and the design of the grid. It may be amplified and shaped by Spirit Stones if your grid includes them.

The final consideration is the aesthetics of the resulting grid. What we need is harmony, balance, integrity, and completeness. The Focus stone has to be the focus of the grid. We have a design. We have our Visual. Desire Stones and Way Stones are selected. We can see the Paths. We have a potential energy flow. We just need the focus.

We are now past the point of objectivity and into the realm of subjectivity. There is a point in building a grid when "it just feels right" comes into play. It is right here. Once you have several candidate Focus Stones, build the grid and try each one. One of them will be "just right". You might not know why because many elements of the design and energy flow are coming together in ways that are hard to understand. Don't try, go with the flow! You are there! Your grid is done.

 

STEP 8

SELECT THE LOCATION

The location of a crystal grid is best determined using the principles of Feng Shui. Feng Shui means Wind and Water - a reference to the Yin and Yang elements of the Universal Life Force. Our grids need an environment that does that - keeps the Life Force energy flowing and balanced.

Find an open, unobstructed location that is pleasant to be in. Don’t put your grids in the closet or under a bed. Let them be in the open, free to gather, amplify, and disperse the helpful energy you are seeking.

 

STEP 9

ADD A PERIMETER

We discussed the perimeter in the previous parts of this lesson. Most people will use black tourmalines for this, and as you are just starting out, that is a good place to begin.

 

STEP 10

ASSEMBLE THE GRID

Some grids should be aligned with the natural world. The magnetic lines of force on this planet run north and south from one magnetic pole to the other. These are natural energy flows.

If there are long straight pathways on our grids, aligning some of them to magnetic north or south can add extra energy to our grid.

 

STEP 11

ACTIVATE THE GRID

To activate a grid, you will need a wand. The wand will transmit the activating energy of your mind into the grid to power it with the Universal Life Force. The process is not difficult.

At a time without distractions of any kind, take your wand in hand, stand or sit near your grid, and close your eyes. In your mind, travel to the center of the galaxy. Feel the waves of energy washing over, as you get closer to the center. See stars and planets whiz by as you fly at incredible speed.

When you get there, look around. Everything in the Universe is spinning around you. Pulses of pure love and life energy are streaming out to the entire rotating galaxy. Hold up your wand and see the energy flowing out from it.

Now, in your mind's ey,e look through all of space and find the Focus Stone of your grid. You will see it far out in the fringes of the Galaxy, but it is shining brighter than all the suns and stars. Use your wand to focus a flow of pulsing life-giving energies out to your Focus Stone. Now open your eyes to be instantly transported back to your grid. Wow, what a trip!

Now see the pulsing, glowing energy pulsing outward down the grid Paths to the Way stones, lighting them from within. See each of them, in turn, transform with an inner glow of pulsing energy. Then follow the energy down the Paths to the Desire Stones.

See each of them start to have an inner fire. See the grid absorbing the energy of the cosmos through the Focus; travel the Paths into the Way Stones, and then light up your Desire Stones. See your grid light up in your mind's eye. Focus your being on your desire. Make it real.

 

Review

Your grid is done and ready to assist you in your desire. You can disassemble and reassemble it as you wish.  But activate it each time you set it up.’
