Healing the Mind

The Path of Mental Growth and Healing extends into the inner circle and to the Creator stone from the East. The journey is aided by the spirit keeper of the East, Wabun, his animal totem, the Golden Eagle, and by the spirit of the East Wind. The journey has three stones: the Clarity Stone, the Wisdom Stone, and Illumination Stone. Each of these stones will help you on your journey around the medicine wheel as you seek to develop a healthy mental attitude and mindset. The journey to heal the mind begins at the East Wind stone, and continues here, beginning with the Clarity Stone.

The first stone on the Path of Mental Health and Healing from the East in our Medicine Wheel is the Stone of Clarity.

The stone is Mica and the Spirit Guide animal is the hummingbird.

The Clarity Stone is the place on the wheel you begin your mental healing journeys.

Being able to see things as they really are is the beginning of mental health. You must know yourself and your environment and be able to perceive that which actually exists.

Mica

Thinking clearly means just that - having clarity into the real and the imagined.

Come to this stone, the Mica, when you are trying to begin a journey of good mental health.

Do you need understand what is real? Do you need to think clearly? Do you need to be truly aware? If so, come to this stone.

Mica is a thin, translucent material that is found in sheets, like an onion in some ways. You can peel it back, sheet by sheet. As you seek clarity in your thinking, use the Mica to "peel back" your thoughts to get to the underlying truths.

The Spirit Path of the East - Hummingbird

You can also use the animal totem for clarity – the Hummingbird. The Hummingbird is sacred to a number of tribes of Native Americans.

It reaches deep within a flower for the nectar. Its spirit can help you dive deep within to find your truths.

Carry your Mica with you, and perhaps a small, carved hummingbird. Together, these totems will assist you in thinking clearly.

The second stone on the path of Mental Clarity and Health is the stone of Wisdom. Wisdom on the physical level is knowing your limits and understanding your capabilities.

It is the ability to discern the real from the imagined. It is knowing what is good for your body and what is not.

The Wisdom of the Body is a very difficult study. Research is constantly discovering new things about health.

There is a lot we can learn, and a lot to unlearn as research clears away misconceptions and outdated beliefs.

Jade

The Stone of Wisdom is Jade. Jade is said to bless whatever it touches, serving mankind across the globe for nearly 6,000 years.

Wisdom Stone Owl

Jade is most valued for its metaphysical properties. It is the ultimate "Dream Stone," revered in ancient cultures, as well as today, to access the spiritual world, gain insight into ritualistic knowledge and encourage creativity.

It is cherished as a protective talisman, assuring long life and a peaceful death, and is considered a powerful healing stone.

An amulet of good luck and friendship, Jade signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility, dispelling the negative and encouraging one to see oneself as they really are.

The animal totem of Wisdom is the Owl. Owl medicine is strong.

When you seek true wisdom, consult the owl. However, be careful. Ask what you truly need to know and be prepared for answers that might not be expected. Do not use the Owl totem irresponsibly. Use it when you are in real need of wisdom about important matters.

The Illumination Stone

Crystal Totem:    Calcite
Animal Totem:    Firefly
Color:    Fluorescent Blue
Path:    Third Stone of Mental Clarity and Health Path

The third stone on the Path of Mental Clarity and Health is the stone of Illumination.

Illumination is the ability to let the sacred Universal Life Force flow freely in your body and your mind.

It is here you come to let creative energy flow through your mind.

The Animal Totem is the Firefly.

Illumination Stone Firefly

The Firefly creates its own light to illuminate the darkness around it.

It is self-sufficient. It lights its own path.

Fireflies create a sense of wonder in those that observe them.

They are a miraculous part of the circle of life. Take time to appreciate them.

Calcite

The crystal totem of the Stone of Illumination is Calcite, an excellent mineral used in many ceremonies.

Calcite calms the mind and promotes emotional intelligence. It teaches discernment and analysis, stimulates insight, and boosts memory. It is especially illuminating for those who have lost hope to find their way out into the light.

The Spirit Path of the East, Healing the Mind, is a part of the journey around the Medicine Wheel. It is an important part of anyone's journey in this life. Come here often to renew your mental well being.
