Themis- Greek Goddess of Justice and Order

themisThemis (pronounced thee-miss) is from Greece and is the Titan Goddess of Divine Law and Order.

Themis was able to predict the future. She was in control over the most ancient oracles, including Delphi. During this role, she was the Divine voice (themistes) who first instructed mankind in the essential laws, good and bad, right and wrong, and justice, the rules of friendliness, good governance, conduct of assembly, and pious offerings to the gods.

Themis was married to Zeus. She was his secondwife. She counseled him. She counseled him by sitting with him by his throne and advising him on the divine law and the rules of fate.

Zeus also told her some smart ideas and things. Themis had two sets of daughters with Zeus. They are known as the Horai, or hours (also known as the Horae) and the Moirai (also known as the Moirae and/or the Fates). The Horai include Eunomia, Dike, and Eirene. The Moirai iclude Klotho, Lachesis, and Atropos.

Themis is very good at making aegis, or also known as shields and defenses. When Athena was born, Themis gave her the aegis she had made as a friendship token and to complement the warlike armor Athena was wearing when she burst from Zeus’s head (that’s a different story).

When Themis saw Athena’s strength and intelligence, she knew how dangerous Athena would be if any of the Olympian gods mated with her. Themis warned Zeus that if a son was born to Athena, he would be more powerful than Zeus. No one really knows if Zeus believed her.

If your family, friends, or your life is treating you badly, you should call upon Themis for help. Themis can always help you.

What you have to do is take a few moments out of your day and consider the repercussions of what you do, both spiritually and practically .
